Find the call and the resolution below. In her email to House members, Lockhart was characteristically to the point:
Over the past week, I have been working with Legislative staff preparing for a House session to create an investigative committee. The proposed committee is the will of the people as expressed through their representatives.Attached you will find:• the call for a House rules session on July 3 beginning at 10 a.m.• H.R. 9001. The resolution outlines details for a committee that will investigate allegations against Utah’s Attorney General. The resolution is sponsored by Rules Committee Chairman Dean Sanpei. The House Rules Committee will hear the resolution in a public meeting on July 3 at 8 a.m.
I appreciate your willingness to fulfill your duties as an elected representative, especially during the holidays. We’ve taken on a task that will be neither pleasant nor easy. But there is no group of people I trust more to find the facts than the House of Representatives.Sincerely,Speaker Becky Lockhart
