Word. Got a couple good looking books from the library tonight. It’s within walking distance, so if I put the kids in the stroller and take them with, I get new books to peruse and read, the kids pick out some new books, and I get at least a modicum of exercise….if just.
The books? I’ll spare you the fun ones and just share the more interesting of the titles.
“Theodore Roosevelt’s History of the United States: His Own Words,” selected and arranged by Daniel Ruddy. I’m reading Edmund Morris‘ “The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt” during my commute to work. He published his first book at 23, “The Naval War of 1812” and 37 other books during his career. I thought it might be interesting to read some of TR‘s own words in conjunction with his biography.- “How to read literature like a professor.” I saw this one at B&N, and it was all I could do not to purchase it on the spot.
Instead, I’ve got it for the month. If anything could make me sound like more of a book snob (than just sneering at Twilight and such nonsense), than I was sure this was it. How much fun can literature be?

(And, yes, I admit it: I also picked up sundry novels of low brow sci-fi and fantasy…but who’s keeping track?)
