Today, in honor of “Constitution Day,” in lieu of any gratuitous platitudes and commentary I give you the US Constitution itself (minus amendments) from the online site of the US Archives. Links will take you to Amendments that have superceded sections of original document. Signers are at the end and are linked to their biographies.
Take a half hour and read through it. If you are feeling more industrious and interested, check out ConSource.org for an excellent resource in learning more about the Constitution as it was originally written. ConSource posts images of the original document along side the transcript, as well as links to documents that further inform the original meaning of various portions of the Constitution (for example, letters from Founders, the Federalist Papers, etc).

Romney’s response may not have been well timed or well said, but it demonstrates Americans’ disenchantment at what is missing from the Obama Administration’s foreign policy: a willingness to stand up for American values and let America lead again.
A Non-Sexy Way to Cut Government Spending

Speculating on ways to save taxpayer money and curb the national debt has become a bit of a national pastime. The right wants to cut “entitlement spending” and the left has their sights set on defense and tax loopholes. Everyone agrees that we should do something. We’re stuck with lots of rhetoric, line drawing and politicians who largely maintain the status quo.
State and local governments are also slashing budgets and cutting back essential public services to save money. I would like to propose an idea that is not original and won’t solve the national debt. It’s simple, has been tried and tested and may even help our obesity epidemic. [cont…]
Romney’s Mormonism or Romney’s Religiousness?

If you’ve been paying attention even the slightest, you probably know that Mitt Romney is Mormon. On the other hand, you’d be hard pressed to remember if you had heard him talk about it much, if at all, even if you were a close watcher of the GOP race for the nomination.
Why is that?
