Speaker Becky Lockhart announced at 4:21 PM on July 17 who will serve on the nine member House committee tasked with investigating allegations against Utah Attorney General John Swallow.

The Committee will be chaired by Rep. Lowry Snow and will include House Majority Leader,  Rep. Brad Dee, and House Minority Leader,  Rep. Jennifer Seelig.  Also serving on the committee are Rep. Jim Dunnigan,  Rep. Lee Perry,  Rep. Mike McKell,  Rep. Rebecca Chavez-Houck,  Rep. Lynn Hemingway, and  Rep. Susan Duckworth.

Rep. Spencer Cox, who early on called for Swallow’s resignation, expressed confidence in the committee:

This is a historic committee and I have complete confidence in the abilities and integrity of my colleagues that have received this very challenging assignment.  Rep. Lowry Snow is a brilliant attorney and a better person.  He is widely respected and the perfect choice to chair the committee.  I truly believe that this committee will do everything necessary to find the truth and restore the public trust.
