A couple notes about the poll:
1. It’s completely unscientific.
2. It appears that people who oppose Julie Dole voted in far higher numbers than those who support her.
3. The point of my poll and my post was not to attack any candidates that Julie may support or oppose, but to remind her that her duty is to the delegates, and by violating the bylaws, which she did, she threatens the entire convention process. [cont…]

For those media types who still want to jettison a closed primary and open a primary to anyone, let me present Exhibit A for why open primaries give bad results:
Newt Gingrich. He’s proof that a body of voters can choose the candidate least in line with his party and with more likelihood of getting in a “snooty” remark about the President than winning a general election.

Which leads to the resolution: formulate systems and goals that will lead to the discipline to, well, get more done–read more books, write more…stuff, spend more time with family, serve in my community a few more hours, and, hopefully, earn a little more money.

With the contest for the GOP Presidential nomination leaving the more tolerant American northeast (New Hampshire) and heading back into evangelical territory, Mitt Romney’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint (“LDS” for short) faith (aka “Mormonism” or the “Mormons” in the popular press) is back in the news. The Pew Research Center, in anticipation, has released a new poll on Mormons.
